Event to commemorate the victims of the Shoah

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation from fascism.

To kick off these celebrations, the mayor of Strausberg will hold a commemorative event on January 27 at 4 p.m. to mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp at the memorial grove for the victims of fascism in Strausberg.

The Märkisch-Oderland district branch of the VVN-BdA is responsible for the content of this commemoration.

This year's event is of particular significance not only because of the anniversary, but also because of the Bundestag elections taking place in February.

We will use the event to draw attention to the dangers that a further strengthening of the neo-fascist AfD poses to the existence of democracy in Germany.
