Nothing is inevitable, and nothing lasts forever (except the cold November rain).

Remember whenever someone tries to tell you that something is inevitable, they are lying and trying to convince themselves as much as they are trying to persuade you.

When you see articles about the bad stuff that generative "AI" is doing, remind yourself that direct action gets the goods and figure out your own way(s) to resist.

I write passionately (I like to think) and argue strongly (again, I'd like to think) against slop machines. I haven't used them willingly in years, and if it comes to me being fired for not using them at my "AI first" company, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. I am morally and ethically opposed to them, and will do what I can to resist them and participate in the movement for their rejection and removal.

So don't give up, and don't let the worst people tell you that there is nothing you can do. There is lots you can do! Those grifters were wrong about cryptocurrency and Web 3.0, they were wrong about NFTs and they are wrong about large language models and "agentic AI." Jack Dorsey sure isn't smart, or right very often, and he is just grifting more executives with his latest moves, just like he grifted Elongated Muskrat.

It is no coincidence that the worst people who were the most loud and wrong about NFTs were also the first people going the hardest for "AI." Zuccs (who hasn't had a good idea since he ripped off those goofball crypto twins however many years ago) is pushing hard for "AI" when he isn't shilling his dork glasses that make terrible people even less bangable. These doofuses haven't been right in decades, and the likelihood that they are right about this is very low.

I highly suspect that bubble will burst, and while it may take out the economy in the United States of America and do a bunch of damage around the world, it could also take out Microsoft, Oracle, Meta, and some other terrible companies. Which feels like it'd be worth some pain, at least to me!

Anyway, it may seem difficult, but be hopeful internet friend! We can win, I believe in us. As Walter said in The Big Lebowski, "if you will it, dude, it is no dream."

I've just realised that various UK government have actually been working for decades to prevent the events in Terminator 2 from occuring! 😲

The end of the movie is in a Steel Mill, so clearly the best way to prevent the future depicted is to close all the steel mills 🙄🤦‍♂️
