I finished #NoCoincidence last night, that #Cyberpunk2077 novel that I've been diggin' on for the past week or so. If you haven't read it, or you need to finish it (lookin' at YOU, @revengeday), you really should! It's a good but slower fix of new Night City stories that fill in some gaps.

But you know it's going to be good because the author was one of the screenwriters for Edgerunners, so he knows this universe (or at least CDPR's version of it) quite intimately.

And, of course, without giving any spoilers, it ends in a typical Night City fashion - bleak, dystopian, but as always, open questions that hint at some semblance of hope for someone.

Also interspersed in the plot is some fairly good discussion on the transhumanist dream of uploading consciousness into the 'Net, and (I believe) why it's not possible. If you read between the lines a little bit, and take time to think through those bits, it seems to paint a picture that uploading is no more possible in the future than it is now, and unfathomable peril waits for those on the other side.

Don't breach the Blackwall, choom.
