'It's ridiculous': U.S. closing historic Border Road to Canadian traffic

There is no need to divide this community, against the wishes of the population.

Abschiebezentren ausserhalb der EU. Die Festung wird weiter hochgezogen, koste es, was es wolle. Offenbar auch Menschenrechte.

Gleichzeitig empören wir uns lautstark über Mauern anderswo: an der Grenze zu Mexiko, in Lateinamerika. Aber hier? Hier schauen wir weg.

Und wählen fröhlich weiter nach rechts, weil uns linke und grüne Politik „zu weit geht“, nur weil sie sich für marginalisierte Menschen einsetzt und den menschengemachten Klimawandel anerkennt.

Hauptsache, diskriminierende Aussagen bleiben unwidersprochen und überdimensionierte, dreckschleudernde SUVs bleiben schön günstig.

Doppelmoral?
Nein. System. 🤯

Yesterday after the big demonstration against #racism and #fascism in #Amsterdam (https://tube.todon.eu/w/cEuXVWEugHPWzB8GWormwh), I went to the @ACU.nl in #Utrecht. There was a new collective starting a community kitchen (VoKu), followed by a discussion under the attractive title 'Anarchist Dinners Utrecht'. This first time the discussion was about anti-deportation efforts in the #Netherlands (https://acu.nl/events/20260321/anarchist-dinners-utrecht).

Obviously they have learned this rhetoric from their US funders/advisors/inspirations, however it serves a purpose in the UK too: British = White = Christian, and must be defended by the militaristic Hetero-male. Thus, people who don’t fit those categories don’t count as British.

Also should go without saying that:

a) it’s not even close to a reading of jesus’s actual love-thy-neighbour, Samaritans-are-welcome-here message. Sadly, it is close to some of the Church’s historical positions as pro-imperialist, apologists for slavery.

b) Although Liverpool has a smattering of scumbags like any other place, it is also the city with europe’s oldest black community, oldest Chinese community, long established Jewish, Muslim and other religious communities, is as much an Irish as a British city and hopefully won’t stand for this nonsense. #lfc #ynwa #noborders #antifascism #antiracism
