As a first step in the design process we aim to inherit the vocabulary set or wordconcepts of the simple artificial language Toki Pona [12]. It has 118 word conceptsand sufficiently caters for the needs of a simple language. We aim to adapt the pro-nunciation of the words of Toki Pona based on the requirements of word length andphonetic information. For example, given that Toki Pona is a simple language it hassome words which are very short; of course to be easier to learn for humans. Howeverto assist speech recognition, some of its words will need to be elongated based on aspecific methodology, which will attempt to improve the phonetic discernability of words and also be scalable to allow the generation of new words.

jansegers“Ale li pona”. Ovvero: tutto ok. Così si dice in Toki Pona, la lingua creata dal nulla dalla studentessa canadese Sonja Elen Kisa nel 2001 e diventata improvvisamente moda in Rete. Una lingua molto semplice, composta solo da 14 fonemi e da 118 parole che vuole però avere un carattere universale. Sarà forse per tali caratteristiche che questa lingua artificiale ha cominciato a diffondersi e, oggi, sono un discreto numero le persone che parlano, cantano canzoni, scrivono poesie ma, soprattutto, chattano in Toki Pona.
