Don’t think I’ve had to abort a run before but today was the day. Had a 1hr 55 min zone 2 run scheduled for my half marathon training plan and was about 30 minutes short of completion when my ankle gave way and caused a minor sprain. Dug out my Nike AlphaFly 1’s out for todays tempo run, there’s still a bit of life left in them for some speed work so making good use out of them. 2 hour long run experimenting with fuelling. Juice with SIS tab every 3km and gels every 9km. Family commitments meant tomorrow’s tempo run was done today. 90+ minutes with 50 at tempo pace. A tough session that didn’t help by starting off too quickly and ended slowing towards the end but tbh 9.5km for the 50 minutes is where I was aiming for.
