Im April ist das #Krautrock-Urgestein #Kraan auf Tour und präsentiert seine nagelneue Platte „All In”!

55 Jahre gibt es diese Band schon und die drei Gründungsmitglieder spielen heute wieder zusammen als Kraan, wobei zwei davon durchgängig dabei waren.

In meinem eigenen Leben musikalisch wichtig waren vor allem die Kraan-Alben der 70er, insbesondere die „Andy Nogger“ (1974) habe ich viel gehört. Ebenso die „Let It Out“ (1975).

Ob mir das neue Album gefallen wird? Werden wir sehen. Auf SWR2 gab's gestern schon mal eine Hörprobe, es hörte sich doch ziemlich klassisch nach Kraan an, mit Unisono-Parts Gitarre/Synthesizer dem üblichen endgeilen Hellmut-Hattler-Bass.

In dem Lied geht's vermutlich um was anderes. Aber warum sollte ich mich mit meinem Experimentalmusiktrio nicht mal bei den ganz großen Läden bewerben?

Schließlich ist es egal, wer mir keine Antworten schickt, der kleine Laden in Stuttgart, oder der große in Berlin. Ich habe nichts mehr zu verlieren, außer einen Rest von Stolz.

Currently having insane work load in event tech, I still find a little time, and now is a time to listen to a few tracks of the #StrategiesAgainstAlgorithms by @stephan – I'd love to write a detailed review somewhen.

For now… while this record feels very personal Stephan / Schall & Stille, I can also sense influences… some tracks remind me of #Faithless. Not the Faithless of the radio edit of Insomnia, the uncut album versions of things. While vastly electronic, this album for sure feels more than a 100% crafted, not generated.

You can get it and not get it from via Stephan's own art form of distribution: https://strategies.schallundstille.de – basically, you have to trade it with something you created yourself… which in a magical way establishes a type of connection to that music, which gives me an idea of the value this music has for its maker, but also should have for me as a listener. Very different from clicking a „stream now for free“ button.
