Cameroon, South Africa and Nigeria, also known as the Indomitable Lions, Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles, have been competing at the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. All the 24 teams taking part in the four-week tournament in Morocco have nicknames carried proudly by their supporters, though some have been more successful than others in the group stage which ended Wednesday. The Atlas Lions of Morocco finished top of their group and will remain in Rabat. Seven-time champion Egypt, known as the Pharaohs, also topped its group. Tunisia (the Carthage Eagles) and Mali (the Eagles) also advanced. The Coelacanths of Comoros were among the teams to be knocked out.
