As the hot days of summer approach, two Metro Vancouver municipalities are trying to reduce the risk of extreme heat. New Westminster has introduced maximum heat bylaws for apartments and Vancouver approved a grant to retrofit SROs for heating and cooling.

When in #VancouverBC it is only a short trip to #NewWestminster to visit the #HollandShoppingCentre for some #Dutch goodies. Like #kaas aka cheese, but then real cheese. Not the ultra processed cheese you find south of the Canadian border.

This for our moots in #Vancouver and surrounding cities: Have any candidates or politicians there ever discussed having public transit infrastructure on the #FraserRiver like so many other cities on major rivers around the world? The river connects #Chilliwack to #NewWestminster to #Delta and #Richmond. Seems like a good idea but maybe too costly?
