🧵 7/n i've tried #NewPipe, but i couldn't log in to my YouTube account, despite the LLM/AI insisting that option exists.
AFAIK, you're supposed to export your subscriptions and import them into NewPipe - in NewPipe, you seem to be not actually subscribing, you're just maintaining a list of surveilled channels.
I'm not using NewPipe, but vanilla YouTube in the browser. The UX on #FydeOS is much snappier than the same use case in #Firefox on #Windows.

For ditching Big Tech I was always going to struggle with replacing YouTube.
PeerTube is a great platform but just doesn't have the amount or range of videos.
So I've gone with FreeTube on Linux and NewPipe on GrapheneOS - both are FOSS clients that let you watch YouTube hosted videos without adverts and telemetry.
They feel like YouTube from the 2010s and, as usual with current Big Tech, previous iterations were always better.
