I’m sad to report that our little hummingbird has abandoned her nest. Based on her behavior, I believe she is not the same hummingbird. In fact, I believe she is a baby of our Rosie because she is acting like a brand new mom. It makes me sad to think that Rosie is no longer around, but glad that one of her babies has come back to her “home” to start her own family. We have named her Calamity Jane because she’s a brand new mom and was erratically in and out of the nest until she finally abandoned it. I hope she comes back next year after she’s a bit more mature and is able to successfully hatch her first set of babies.
