On March 18, a federal judge will hear a case on eliminating the county line in New Jersey's primary election ballots.
Join NJ Working Families in Trenton for the hearing on one of the most pivotal and consequential legal cases that could redefine NJ politics and end an unconstitutional, undemocratic ballot system.
Together we can put our democracy back into the hands of voters. All out for better ballots!
### Outdoor Rally Guidelines
- Posters/signs/chants should stick to pro-democracy, pro-fair-elections, -pro-better-ballot, anti-line messaging
- Posters/signs/chants should **NOT** be partisan; i.e., they should NOT have pro-candidate or anti-candidate messaging
- Posters/signs/chants should **NOT** directly address the case, the judge, or officers of the court; i.e., do **NOT** bring signs with messages like “Grant the Injunction!” or “Judge, Give Us Justice”
- Do **NOT** stand on the courthouse steps or obstruct the entrance
- Do **NOT** harass people going in or out of the building
- Do **NOT** obstruct street traffic or put yourself/others at risk by standing in the street; safety is our priority!
### Security Check:
- Be prepared to show government-issued photo I.D.
- Pass through a metal detector
- Expect X-ray of personal possession s
- Bags may be searched
- No weapons of any kind permitted
- Posters and signs are not permitted in the hearing. If you have small posters, you may be able to store them out of sight in your bags. Otherwise, signage will likely be confiscated at the security check
### Etiquette:
- Seating and standing room will likely be limited. Visitors may be permitted to wait in hallways until space opens up
- Phones must be turned off or silenced during proceedings
- No photographs, and no audio or video recording
- No shouting, cheering, or jeering during proceedings
