It's incredibly difficult and demoralizing to watch my country destroy itself, bit by precious, irreplaceable bit. I'd say I did this painting to try and understand what is going on, but I’m not sure that's really possible. It makes no sense, at all. People in charge are simply murdering the future because they can, and it feels like all we can do it watch. They’re trying to entice you to join in, or at least cheer on their destruction. I wish you wouldn’t, for all our sakes.

I went over the sky. You’re just going to have to trust me when I tell you that the sky fades from a dark blue up to a dark purple at the top, because my phone camera just will not capture it. It’s not done, but there isn’t a whole lot left. Hopefully the final photo will capture the color a bit better.
