It's #NewCameraDay , well sort of. I found a second #EnsignCameo for £60. It came with 6 rather rusted , but salvageable plate holders and a nice case. It has cleaned up nicely. I need to test the bellows.
It has some intriguing differences from my original copy. The hard stop for infinity works differently (the lens release must be pushed to put the lens back, rather than to pull it past infinity (though it has an option to have the other behaviour by reversing the focal distance plate)

Finally upgraded from a point-and-shoot. I’m so happy! Now it’s time for experimentation and for learning in my photography course.

Much like Christmas, #NewCameraDay seems to come around quicker every year/month/week!
This is a Houghton Ensign Cameo plate camera. Ground glass looks good. Shutter speeds are good (though T isn't reliable, B works fine and a modern cable release fits).
Did a very quick light leak check, need to do a proper one.
There's a chance I've gotten lucky with the roll film back too. Seems to fit at least, and feels pretty secure.
