NEWBEAT - Look So Good https://youtu.be/KHG3M3UqHBc

First comeback for these 5th gen boys. Always such a shame when these new groups struggle to afford proper clothes. 😅 Most of these boys were backup dancers for A.C.E while their maknae is still in high school???? Lort have mercy....
Oh right, the song. Well, the song is pretty typical fluff dance pop but really, you're probably going to be distracted by the dancing anyway.

from the album Belgian New Beat - The Compilation
Finally got around at lunch time today to put all the track names on the mix I had uploaded last week. Mostly #belgian #newbeat #music some with #english lyrics and some with #french lyrics and even some #german (track Tanzen). #djmix #dj #mix #tape #cassette
https://www.mixcloud.com/fdion/dj-francois-dion-le-new-beat-mix-1989/

(Mostly) Belgian new beat mix. Recorded in Montreal, 1989 on Scotch XSM IV metal tape. DJ: Francois Dion Starts with a minimal 808 track with whale songs (808 Waves - Francois Dion) into Acid Rock by Rhythm Device. The mix concludes with Rock to the Beat by 101. Between these two very well known new beat tracks are quite a few surprises awaiting the listener.
I also digitized another mixtape over lunch. Not too much drops / loss of quality despite the age, thanks to the fact that I had made the recording on a metal tape (Scotch XSM IV - they were pretty expensive back then compared to the Maxell and BASF type II I also used and quite a bit more than the Supertape (Realistic).
"Le New Beat mix (countdown)". (Mostly) Belgian New Beat.
I'll post the track listing on mixcloud once they've finished processing.

Lol, this mix I had done is definitely Belgian new beat, but I threw in TC Matic in there with "oh la la la" 🤣 I had some sense of humor. Also used electrica salsa by OFF (Sven vath). That's the second mix I found where I used that track. The other I already digitised but this latest is still on #tape

Pioneers of French electronic music revisit progressive trance with a unique mix of pop, house, club, and new beat.

I need some #FediHelp but this seems quite obscure at least to my fuddled brain.
When I was a young man either in the very late 80's or early 90's there was a youth TV show that did a short section on New Beat/Belgian House.
I am convinced it featured an interview with a man purporting to be a producer. He spoke in French Belgian with an interesting accent (perhaps his voice was slightly treated). He was absurd, articulate and slightly pompous.
He was clad as a Mummy, with dark glasses and a pipe. As I recall the Mummy bandages were dark rather than white. I think there were one or two women behind him giggling at intervals.
I've since found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMhn8woIgHI
So maybe I am conflating the two. But I am certain the man was sat in his studio talking about Belgium, dance music and other enlightening topics.
I don't think it was SnubTV as I seem to recall most of those, could have been Network Seven or similar.
