I've been using and recommending Netgear #network equipment a lot for home lab and small office use, because you get a lot of bank for your buck with them. But they're from the #USA, so they're on the shitlist now.
Looking at Mikrotik now, they have a nice range of managed switches for friendly prices and are from Europe. #Latvia to be specific. Now, Latvia doesn't have a stellar record wrt QUILTBAG+ rights, so that's a bit worrisome. They did have (or still have?) a gay president though, and they seem to be moving forwards instead of backwards.
i think I'll try some of their gear, but donate twice the price of the gear I buy from them to a Latvian LGBTQIA+ rights organisation just to be sure.
Any optinions on Latvia in general or Mikrotik in particular with regards to human rights? Or other brands I should look at?
