Daniel Christian Hulea, a Romanian national, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with NetWalker ransomware attacks.
DOJ's press release:
A Romanian man was sentenced today for his role in the NetWalker ransomware attacks to 20 years in prison and ordered to forfeit $21,500,000 and his interests in an Indonesian limited liability company and associated luxury resort property under construction in Bali, Indonesia — a business venture he financed with proceeds from the attacks. He was also ordered to pay
* Build links 2.29 against said local openssl and install it locally. Works in graphics mode. The supplied Firefox doesn't work anymore, because it's linked against the old openssl and doesn't support current TLS/SSL protocols.
* Build SDL2 (2.0.12). Doesn't seem to work.
* Build Decker and play flappy bird.

I have reactivated my Sharp Netwalker PC-Z1.
It still runs Ubuntu 9.04, but I managed to do the following:
* Install a dev environment
* install current version of some GNU tools.
* compile openssl 1.1.1u instead of the installed 0.9.8i (cough, cough) and install it locally.
