#ccmusic Listening Party this Saturday, March 28.

No rules, except music must be #netnative (but most of that music is cc, so just stick with that if you don't know what #netnativemusic is)

You can do camera or not. You can speak or not.

The World Clock — Worldwide

World time and date for cities in all time zones. International time right now. Takes into account all DST clock changes.

The code for netlabelguide.com is at https://github.com/blocglobal/netlabelguide.com and could easily be forked off of github, so that would be my suggestion for compiling those recognized.

I'm up for discussion about categories and nominees and such but my initial thought is just to start with "Lifetime Achiecement in Net Native Music."

#netnativemusic is a term I have been trying to make happen because there are non-CC licenses out there that do similar things.

2 of who knows...

By share audio I mean play audio for others, not voice. Voice will work from any modern browser.

If you want to share audio and dont have a compatible browser, you can just send me the link! Share from #netlabels @mirlo @bandwagon jam.coop #jamendo #fma #soundcloud anywhere #CCMUSIC is found.

Most of the time any #netnativemusic is (#publicdomain etc) is allowed but since this is a CC Anniversary let's keep it to stuff with a CC license (or maybe something with a clear CC Public Domain mark)

Aside from #netlabelday is there any org where #netlabels come together? I dont think there is. There are a few scene resources like Netlabel Archive but I dont think anyone is coming together.

Is this just because people that run netlabels have no time?

Is it because things are too globally distributed? Organizations like the CNCF get around this by having events in different locations.

Is it a language thing?

Are people just not interested?

The CC Music Club

I went to a small show recently and I wanted to be able to offer these independent musicians a moral way to be successful. To build an audience and get paid. I love that an independent music scene is developing on fedi, but there's a problem. It all seems to

#Seattle (well, we're staying in Bellevue) i will be there in a week and a half. Any #ccmusic or #netnativemusic folks want to record a @jjj #diningwithdoug ? Probably will just be coffee but...alliteration!

had a thought about the #ccmusic vs #netnativemusic discussion and I realized that creative commons music is different than Creative Commons music.

I'm not sure that really removes the need for Net Native Music as a term. There's also "commons music" or "music of the commons" I guess #musicotc is not a terrible tag.

One thing about #ccmusic is it also doesn't include PD music. I mean, it sort of does with the PD mark, but it's PD with or without mark.

In December, @Cheesetruck and I will be recording our first episode of Netlabel Review for @friendsofccmusic

This is planned to be a quarterly show. If you have #music tracks, shows, albums, #netlabels, stories, etc you would like us to cover, send them our way.

Any #netnativemusic released by a #netlabel will work. If you are a musician and you would be interested in releasing via a netlabel you can let us know and we can put you in contact with someone depending on your genre(s)

For #netlabel folks I also tease the new show @Cheesetruck and I are going to do called "Netlabel Review". This show will focus exclusively on netlabels, not the wider #netnativemusic scene. The focus will be on the labels, not the musicians. Plenty of places that focus on musicians, including @thebugcast & @ryno

There are also plenty of shows that promote specific netlabels such as Tha Bloc Report.
