This is huge! CodePen 2.0 Deploy reminds me of the Glitch platform @glitchdotcom that shut down last year, but... with a proven business model and owner control via domain. Also an alternative to Netlify or GitHub Pages.

I love it!

Who else would use a shared Electron library to create and deploy Netlify sites?

I’m interested in helping to create a shared JavaScript library for letting Electron apps authenticate with Netlify (and potentially GitHub/GitLab pages) via OAuth for the purpose of creating new projects and uploading files to existing projects.

Y’all. I want to explore Netlify alternatives. I don’t deploy apps there, only websites. I love being able to push to GIT repos and have them publish to my server, so I want wanna give that up.

Any solid recommendations?

Been working on a large @11ty site recently, unfortunately all the platforms I've tried to deploy to run out of memory.

I don't particularly want to go to an enterprise plan if I can help it, anyone have any ideas?

For ref, setting max_old_space_size=16384 gets me someway there but most of the platforms ( #netlify, etc) only go up to 11gb, even on Pro plan.

Currently trying #vercel with their enhanced performance stuff but it's not looking good.

Trying to find the best option for hosting an #eleventy site, however there is a lot of content (I mean, a LOT) that gets updated frequently and #netlify's new pricing structure is a lot more prohibitive than the legacy one for regular builds.

One idea is #cloudways since we already have an account, has anyone done this kind of build-and-deploy with them?

FOSS Advent Calendar - Door 18: Build at the Speed of Thought with Hugo

Tired of slow, bloated websites? Meet Hugo, the world's fastest static site generator. Written in Go, Hugo transforms your Markdown content and templates into a complete, optimized website in milliseconds. Whether you're building a blog, portfolio, documentation, or a company site, Hugo gives you simplicity, speed, and security by default.

Unlike database-driven CMS, Hugo generates pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This means your site loads instantly, is immune to common security vulnerabilities, and can be hosted anywhere for free, GitHub Pages, Netlify, or a simple web server. Its powerful theming system and shortcodes let you create complex layouts without touching JavaScript frameworks, while live-reload development makes writing a joy.

Pro tip: Use Hugo with Netlify CMS for a static site with a dynamic editing experience. You get a Git-based workflow with a friendly admin UI for your content team. With Hugo, you're not just building websites; you're crafting lightning-fast experiences.

What would you build at web speed? A personal blog that loads in a blink, company documentation that's always online, or a portfolio that shines without JavaScript?

Okay, I am not the only one who had to move away from #Netlify due to their new pricing structure.
