Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons, Ukraine, 1919

Context: “Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons” (Анархия-мама сынов своих любит) is a revolutionary song associated with the anarchist insurgents who fought in southeastern Ukraine during the Ukrainian struggle for independence and self-determination around 1918–1921.

It is commonly described as the unofficial anthem of the Makhnovist “Black Army,” reportedly written in 1919 by Nestor Makhno, and reflects the movement’s militant struggle against forces, whether Red or White, that sought to reimpose centralized state control.

I was sitting in the little room, staring out the window, when I noticed this kākā uhi whero (#Platycercus eximius) eastern rosella nibbling on the dried wharariki seed pods, grabbing them with a claw and pulling them open for delicious flaxen snacks.

Sprinted to grab my camera and just managed to get these before it left.

Telemachos, Odysseus‘ Sohn badete hier vor 3500 Jahren!
So steht es jedenfalls in der #griechischenmythologie. Diese Badewanne steht allerdings wirklich in dem Palast von Nestor, ausgegraben von Archäologen in Griechenland bei Pylos, westlich der Peloponnes. Von Nestor wird in der Mythologie ausführlich erzählt. Sein Großvater war der Meeresgott Poseidon. Nestor galt als der
Hauptorganisator des Trojanischen Krieges. Am Ende kehrte Odysseus
in dem Epos nach Pylos zurück, in Nestors Palast, und beschreibt, wie
sein Sohn in der Wanne badet. Die gibt es jedenfalls wirklich, noch nach
3500 Jahren.
