A full shot of a sign that I posted a tightly-cropped shot of previously. I nearly missed my chance here, because the day this was taken, they were in the process of tearing down the signage to make way for a new tenant. Despite the gray, drizzly weather, I managed to get some decent documentary shots, if not particularly artistic ones. #StLouis #Missouri #signs #signage #neon #NeonSigns #GraphicDesign #typography

Built Slowly, Felt Naturally

A space comes together through small, consistent choices. Light, placement, routine, even a custom neon sign. Over time, it starts to feel right without needing to explain why.

If you ever feel like adding a soft, personal touch, you can create your own custom neon sign here: https://crazyneon.com/products/custom-neon-sign

Downtown Everett. These buildings both feature marquee bulb (bulb letter) signs, where open face channel letters are lit from within by hundreds of light bulbs. This tech goes back to the 1890s, but declined in the '30s as neon lighting caught on; neon was more durable and easier to maintain.

1. Funko Headquarters, the world-famous maker of plastic pop-culture figures (backlit neon)
2. Funko's vertical marquee letter sign
