I don't mind wood mice living close by, they typically don't come inside your house and they look cute 🥰
These two live outside our front door, living off seed that the birds drop from the feeder. I was sitting about a meter and a half away from them, they didn't mind the flashes of the camera.
I hung a net of peanuts in the garden yesterday, for birds and squirrels, but it was gone this morning.
Until I looked at one of the cameras, which shows a beech marten hauling ass with a net of peanuts in its mouth 😂
BirdNET-go alerted me it heard a kingfisher in the backyard. And it was right 🥰

And this isn’t a hornet at all, but the hornet mimic hoverfly. It does look and sound a bit like a (European) hornet.

For contrast, this is a European hornet. They’re larger, more pronounced and colorful abdomen, red/brown thorax/head/legs, and sound very different when they fly.
It was also very notable that bees and other flying insects tried to chase the Asian hornet away, while they're fine with the European hornets (which makes sense as the Asian hornet preys on bees).
