Il Tempo: La regia dell'Iran per frenare la pace tra Israele e Libano? La ricostruzione inquietante

Parigi alza i toni e, per una volta, mette da parte la cautela diplomatica. Dopo la morte di un casco blu francese nel sud del Libano, il presidente Emmanuel Macron indica apertamente una responsabilità: "Tutto lascia pensare" che dietro l'attacco ci sia Hezbollah. Un'accusa netta, ribadita anche nei colloqui con il presidente libanese Joseph Aoun e il premier Nawaf Salam, ai quali è stata chiesta un'indagine rapida. Ma all'Eliseo, più che attendere verifiche, si ragiona già su un quadro ritenuto sufficientemente chiaro.

Secondo la lettura francese, l'attacco non è solo un episodio isolato, ma un messaggio politico preciso: colpire la presenza militare di Parigi per condizionare il ruolo della missione UNIFIL e frenare ogni ipotesi di rafforzamento del suo mandato. Non solo. L'agguato viene interpretato anche come un tentativo di sabotare i delicati equilibri tra Libano e Israele, proprio mentre si muovono i primi passi sul terreno negoziale. Un segnale diretto a una Francia che, da anni, mantiene un ruolo centrale nel Paese dei cedri, sostenendo istituzioni e forze armate locali.

Sul tavolo c'è anche un'ipotesi più ampia, che porta dritto a Iran. All'Eliseo si valuta infatti che dietro l'azione possa esserci quantomeno un incoraggiamento proveniente dall'orbita di Teheran, storicamente legata a Hezbollah e ostile a qualsiasi riavvicinamento tra Libano e Israele. In questo scenario, colpire i militari francesi significherebbe mandare un avvertimento a una potenza europea che prova a giocare una partita autonoma, non completamente allineata agli Stati Uniti ma comunque influente negli equilibri regionali. Il clima si fa ancora più pesante se si guarda alla sequenza degli eventi. In poco più di un mese, due soldati francesi sono stati uccisi in operazioni attribuite a gruppi legati alla stessa galassia filo-iraniana. Un'escalation che a Parigi richiama alla memoria precedenti drammatici come l'Attentato al palazzo Drakkar, quando morirono 58 paracadutisti francesi. Un parallelo che pesa e che rafforza la convinzione, sempre più esplicita, che dietro gli attacchi non ci siano solo milizie locali ma una regia ben più ampia.

Paris is raising the stakes and, for once, putting aside diplomatic caution. Following the death of a French Blue Helmet in southern Lebanon, President Emmanuel Macron openly accuses: “Everything points to” Hezbollah being behind the attack. A clear accusation, reiterated in talks with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, who were asked to conduct a rapid investigation. But at the Élysée Palace, more than waiting for verification, they are already considering a picture deemed sufficiently clear.

According to the French interpretation, the attack is not just an isolated incident, but a precise political message: to strike at the French military presence to condition the role of the UNIFIL mission and to stifle any possibility of strengthening its mandate. Not only that. The ambush is also interpreted as an attempt to sabotage the delicate balance between Lebanon and Israel, just as the first steps are being taken on the negotiating ground. A direct signal to a France that, for years, has maintained a central role in the Cedar country, supporting local institutions and armed forces.

On the table is also a broader hypothesis, which leads directly to Iran. At the Élysée Palace, it is being evaluated that the action could at least involve encouragement from the orbit of Tehran, historically linked to Hezbollah and hostile to any rapprochement between Lebanon and Israel. In this scenario, targeting French soldiers would mean sending a warning to a European power that is trying to play an autonomous game, not completely aligned with the United States but still influential in regional balances. The atmosphere becomes even heavier if one looks at the sequence of events. In just over a month, two French soldiers have been killed in operations attributed to groups linked to the same Iranian-backed galaxy. An escalation that in Paris recalls previous dramatic episodes, such as the Drakkar Palace attack, when 58 paratroopers died. A parallel that weighs and reinforces the conviction, increasingly explicit, that behind the attacks there are not only local militias but a much wider direction.

Neanche il cessate il fuoco di due settimane in Iran è sufficiente per placare Benjamin Netanyahu. Nella prima giornata di tregua, infatti, Israele intensifica gli attacchi sul Libano come mai prima d’ora. Un’ondata di raid ha colpito Beirut, con diversi quartieri della città coinvolti, dal centro al lungomare. E anche zone molto popolose.
Inevitabile il panico tra le strade della capitale libanese, con i testimoni che parlano di “scene apocalittiche” per gli edifici distrutti e le colonne di fumo che si sollevano in più punti della città. Secondo alcune fonti mediche si registrano già centinaia di feriti e decine di morti, con diversi cadaveri tra le strade.
Israele se ne frega del cessate il fuoco: il Libano sotto assedio
Le operazioni di soccorso sono partite in diverse zone della città – con oltre cento ambulanze mobilitate dalla Croce Rossa – ed è anche stato lanciato un appello alla popolazione per donare il sangue. Le operazioni sono state eseguite e rivendicate dall’Idf, che parla del “più grande attacco condotto contro le infrastrutture di Hezbollah”, sprezzante del cessate il fuoco in atto.
Anche l’esercito israeliano ha dovuto ammettere che la maggior parte degli obiettivi presi di mira si trovava “nel cuore delle aree abitate”. D’altronde per Netanyahu il cessate il fuoco sembra irrilevante, tanto che ha da subito sostenuto che non riguarda anche il Libano. Hezbollah, però, al contrario di Israele stamattina ha comunicato di aver sospeso il lancio di razzi.
Israele ha lanciato attacchi anche in altre zone del Libano, al Sud, tra Sidone e al-Qalila. Anche qui si parla di diverse vittime. Il premier libanese, Nawaf Salam, accusa Israele di aver ucciso civili disarmati in Libano e di aver attaccato aree densamente popolate, soprattutto a Beirut. E questi attacchi rischiano di avere conseguenze anche sul cessate il fuoco, considerando che l’ambasciatore iraniano alle Nazioni Unite ha affermato che Israele deve rispettare la tregua e che qualsiasi attacco può complicare la situazione e portare a contro-risposte.

Even the two-week ceasefire in Iran is not enough to appease Benjamin Netanyahu. On the first day of the truce, Israel intensified its attacks on Lebanon more than ever before. A wave of raids hit Beirut, with several districts of the city involved, from the center to the waterfront. And very populated areas as well.

Panic inevitably spread through the streets of the capital, with witnesses describing “apocalyptic scenes” of destroyed buildings and smoke columns rising in multiple points of the city. According to some medical sources, hundreds of injured and dozens of dead are already being registered, with several bodies in the streets.

Israel doesn’t care about the ceasefire: Lebanon under siege

Rescue operations began in several areas of the city – with over one hundred ambulances mobilized by the Red Cross – and a call for the population to donate blood was also launched. The operations were carried out and claimed by the IDF, which speaks of the “largest attack conducted against Hezbollah infrastructure,” scornful of the current ceasefire.

The Israeli military also had to admit that most of the targets hit were located “at the heart of inhabited areas.” Nevertheless, for Netanyahu the ceasefire seems irrelevant, so he immediately stated that it did not include Lebanon. Hezbollah, however, unlike Israel this morning, communicated that it had suspended the launch of rockets.

Israel launched attacks in other areas of Lebanon, in the south, between Sidon and al-Qalila. Here too, there are reports of several victims. The Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, accuses Israel of killing unarmed civilians in Lebanon and of attacking densely populated areas, especially in Beirut. And these attacks risk having consequences even on the ceasefire, considering that the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations has stated that Israel must respect the truce and that any attack could complicate the situation and lead to counter-responses.
