Handcrafted Table from a Piece of Boat Hull - A Memory of the October 2023 Storm Surge:
On October 20 and 21, 2023, a catastrophic storm surge caused massive damage along the Baltic Sea coast. Months later, in May 2024, we found a piece of a boat hull washed ashore near Strande. We transformed this relic into a stylish piece of furniture that merges history and craftsmanship.
We used scrap wood and resin for stabilization
The legs are made from sturdy shelf brackets and are detachable for transport. The table top, made from the boat hull, is sealed with resin to preserve its intricate patina.
The boat hull was carefully cleaned, stabilized, and sealed. The tabletop rests on a stable board made from scrap wood, providing the necessary strength.

Handgefertigter Tisch aus einem Stück Bootsrumpf - Erinnerung an die Sturmflut Oktober 2023
Am 20. und 21. Oktober 2023 verursachte eine katastrophale Sturmflut massive Schäden an der Ostseeküste. Monate später, im Mai 2024, fanden wir bei Strande ein Stück eines Bootsrumpfs, das an den Strand gespült wurde. Dieses Relikt haben wir in ein stilvolles Möbelstück verwandelt, das Geschichte und Handwerkskunst vereint.
Die Beine bestehen aus robusten Regalhaltern und sind für den Transport abnehmbar. Die Tischplatte aus dem Bootsrumpf ist mit Harz versiegelt, um die komplexe Patina zu bewahren.
Die Tischplatte ruht auf einem stabilen Brett aus Abfallholz, das für die notwendige Festigkeit sorgt.
