While on a nature hike with my friend, Lyrica, we spotted an owl flying into the top of this tree snag & it was hooting from inside. I tried to talk it out in 2nd photo. Then, I tried to hug the snag tree & try to coax it out. It did not work. The owl didn't come out but it hooted a few more times before we walked away.

Telling my friend about DOC #surfactant in creek. He was worried at first sight but it's not pollution. It is a #natural occurrence. It's an essential part of a healthy & functioning #forest #ecosystem.

Naturally occurring stream foam can be off-white, light tan, or brown. Formed by dissolved organic matter/dissolved #organic carbon (DOC). DOC results from the breakdown of organic debris, tannins & #watershed soils rich in organic materials.

Rewilding, is allowing nature the space to restore to natural habitat.

By excluding heavy machine, hooved animals, we have had mass self seeding from the native trees that are doing well in today's climate. We identify, assist the self seeded by protecting.

We give a helping hand by planting natives that grew here prior to clearing and by planting for the future further climate change.
