^There are exceptions I know, but the problem is: knowing WHICH are the free-free ones and which are the irritating ones that show DEMO and stop working after 10 minutes?

The Deer, The Fox and The Guitar is a great case of a fully free Kontakt plugin. I am not sure how, I think it has to be approved or digitally signed or something?

It don't think it's anything people who just own a copy - cos people who make the free plugins have to buy Kontakt - can just do.

But that's why if you look online about the excellent The Deer The Fox and The Guitar the comments on YT and reddit are full of 'UGH NOT KONTAKT'. Really please avoid Kontakt or provide other more open formats!

Also having made a simple DecentSampler plugin from some Freesound CC0 Harrnonium samples it's everything Kontakt should be - free to use, free to make, free to share.

Not open source, and the Dev GUI is a bit crashy - but fuck of a lot closer than the mess that is Kontakt.
