This year's inductees include some highly notable recordings. My decision to post this was based in large part on it including one of my own all-time favorite recordings, the debut eponymous album by The Cars. “Rocket ‘88’” by Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats was not only one of the key records in rock 'n' roll history but it was also the introduction for most of us to Ike Turner. The Library of Congress can't do everything at once; but it is still surprising that "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Gene Autry wasn't already in the registry. Then there's "Pieces of Africa" by the Kronos Quartet. This list reminds me to look into Bill Withers.

Each of us might quibble over an entry or two; but overall, this is a very impressive list.
