The executive chair is the latest addition to Narbutas' North Cape series of office seating and won the Red Dot Award in 2021, with judges praising its "subtle silhouette" and "elegantly patterned padding".

"We didn't just want to give it padding. We had to create something very personalised," said Adriano Baldanzi. "We spaced the lines as if they were a musical rhythm and thus created a sign that was, however, of distinction in its simplicity."

The North Cape executive chair is available with a choice of two types of armrest – either a rectangular upholstered style or plastic armrests.

The base can be ordered in either polished aluminium or plastic, and there is a wide range of fabric, leather and leather-look upholstery for the seat.

Dezeen Showroom: workplace furniture brand Narbutas has added new customisation options to its Silent Room acoustic pods, offering a glass back wall for a transparent and light-filled office environment.

Narbutas' Silent Room acoustic pods create "a room within a room" in open workspaces, giving employees a private space to make calls, hold small meetings or focus on complex tasks.

A new customisation option for Narbutas' Silent Room pods allows for transparent glass walls on both sides

The new version of the pod has a transparent glass back-wall insert instead of the classic upholstered exterior back panel, which is a good option for settings where it would be undesirable to block light.

Narbutas suggests this option for the middle of open-plan workplaces or for areas that are close to windows or glass partitions.

The pods allow a quiet, private space for focused work or calls

As with all Silent Room variations, the pod comfortably fits up to four people and is equipped with USB type A and C connectors for charging devices.

It features low-noise fans that maintain good air quality and LED lamps that Narbutas says create a "warm and homely" atmosphere within, all kept at an optimal setting by smart controls.

Dezeen Showroom: Narbutas has expanded its Nova Wood collection of office furniture with a new multipurpose table for informal meetings and collaboration.

Narbutas describes the Nova Wood Multipurpose table as a "self-sufficient meeting island" that fosters casual and spontaneous workplace interactions and can be customised with various accessories.

This includes power outlets as well as attachments for display screens, writing boards, shelves, hooks and plant pots.

The multipurpose desk is made from the same solid ash wood as 2019's Red Dot Award-winning Nova Wood meeting table but adds an A-frame and optional castor wheels for mobility.

Narbutas sees the multipurpose table as a perfect design for a time when people are questioning why they should come back to the office post-pandemic.

"The answer is in our nature – for communication and socialisation," said Simonas Savickas, workplace design specialist at Narbutas.

Dezeen Showroom: Narbutas has released the Surf task chair, which features a sail-like backrest designed to keep the user comfortable for hours.

Surf features a curved backrest that Narbutas describes as resembling a windsurfing sail.

While bringing a contemporary silhouette into the office, the chair sustains a high comfort level and can be easily adapted to the individual user by adjusting its lumbar support, armrests, synchro mechanism and seat.

Its backrest is upholstered in Narbutas's new Gabriel Runner mesh textile, which comes in nine different colours ranging from neutral tones to eye-catching brights.

The mesh aids comfort as it adapts to the contours of the back as well as maintaining constant airflow to avoid overheating.

Narbutas produced Surf in collaboration with German designer Justus Kolberg, who conceived the chair's backrest and lumbar support.

Acoustic Clouds hang from the ceiling and muffle noise

The Acoustic Partitions in the collection "are walls that speak for themselves" and are designed to manage the flow of movement in an office.

Owing to their name, the Acoustic Clouds hang from ceilings like chandeliers and efficiently absorb ambient sounds.

The Acoustic Tiles are also built to minimise unnecessary noise and come in five different shapes and a selection of sizes in order to cater to various office-based needs.

PET aims to be a sustainable material

Narbutas is committed to creating sustainable products. All of its acoustic noise minimisers are made from PET, which uses more than 50 per cent recycled plastic.

Soft Rock modular sofa system by Strand + Hvass for Narbutas

Dezeen Showroom: Danish designers Christina Strand and Niels Hvass have created a modular sofa system for workplace furniture brand Narbutas that fosters connectivity in modern offices.

Called Soft Rock, the seating is characterised by its blocky silhouette and rounded corners, which were informed by the way that waves wash over rocks and smoothen their edges.

The low-lying sofa was created in response to the shift away from traditional office settings and towards more flexible work environments.

"The demand for more casual, relaxed working spaces is increasing and at the same time, the need for constant motion," explained Hvass and Strand.

The sofas can be configured into different arrangements to accommodate various work modes

Soft Rock's modular design allows it to be rearranged and adapted to different needs, creating spaces for focused work, rest, training or meetings.

Multiple seating units can be combined into sprawling configurations to accommodate larger groups.

The sofas have in-built power sockets and charging capabilities, as well as optional acoustic screen dividers

Additional features include integrated power sockets and fast-charging USB ports embedded into the armrests and fabric-covered dividers that aid privacy and reduce noise as well as helping to maintain social distancing.
