KenNara Park is a large urban park that abuts a natural area next to the Todai-ji Temple. Over 1,000 semi-wild deer hang out in the park, interact with visitors, and mooch for food. Authorized vendors in the park sell special "deer crackers" so tourists can feed the animals. The deer are everywhere! Feeding the deer is generally considered a must-do activity when visiting Nara.
