🚭 We all know that tobacco is a bad business; it doesn’t matter if you consume it or you grow it.
This 2023 #WorldNoTobaccoDay #Napofilms reminds us of the #SafetyandHealth risks of smoking in the workplace.

To grow or to consume, eitherway tobacco is bad business | Safety and health at work EU-OSHA
As every 31 May, EU-OSHA joins the World Health Organisation during this World No Tobacco Day to draw attention to the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure. Tobacco growing harms the health of people and the planet alike, and yet industry interferes with attempts to substitute tobacco growing, contributing to the global food crisis. This is the focus of the 2023 World No Tobacco Day: Grow food, not tobacco.

Napo identifies some of the causes of stress at work in his traditional humorous style including excessive demands, low control, constant pressure, unacceptable behaviour, lack of respect, change, bad planning and contradictory instructions which lead to errors, fatigue, burnout, exhaustion and poor performance.Stress at work accounts for a high percentage of lost working days, and the number of people suffering from stress-related conditions is increasing. Psychosocial risks at work can be successfully managed, and managing risks improves the wellbeing of workers and the performance of companies. The key is prevention. The film is designed for all work environments and is intended to open up discussion about some of the most difficult issues facing workers, managers and supervisors.

Is it too hot to work? Ask Napo how to beat heat stress! | Safety and health at work EU-OSHA
Climate change is already a reality and the working environment and the safety and health of workers can be compromised. Workers in many sectors can be affected by increasing ambient temperatures, resulting in heat stress; those most at risk are outdoor workers in agriculture or construction, although indoor workers can also be at risk.
