To heal stubborn wounds, scientists look to nanomaterials

Slow-healing lesions — common in diabetics and burn victims — can lead to lingering infections that resist antibiotic treatment. A new approach using light-activated therapies may offer a solution.

In a potential nanoscale breakthrough, scientists at Brown reveal 80-atom boron ‘buckyball’

Chemists at Brown University have shown the first experimental evidence that carbon buckyballs, which launched the nanotechnology revolution, have a cousin made from 80 atoms of the element boron.

Researchers in the @EPFL Microsystems Laboratory have found a way to tune the electronic properties of a 2D nanomaterial during the fabrication process, rather than afterward, removing a major obstacle to integrating 2D #nanomaterials into next-generation #electronics! Their method introduces strain into these atomically thin materials by growing them on grayscale-patterned topographies, rather than on flat surfaces. 📖 Read the full study in Advanced Science 🔗 https://advanced.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/advs.202522850
