@GhostOnTheHalfShell @economics-that-works I guess my quibble is really his use of money when he's really talking about financialization, this #Neoliberal idea that instead of the government doing stuff, they should just throw money at the financial sector and let them do everything.
Their priority, of course, is always making more money. It doesn't "trickle down".
To fix the "resource allocation" problem, the tool is money. The problem as I see it is how the government spends that money (and yes, how it creates it in fiscally sovereign economies like ours). The government can't just redirect resources like in feudal times.

I'd argue that the problem isn't money per se but what the government does with that money. The Quantitative Easing approach is a good illustration. Rather than investing in the real economy to deal with the 2008 crisis, governments bailed out the investors in the hope that they would spend into the real economy.
This is the #Neoliberal approach, and it isn't working. Before the 70's governments invested directly eg; building the Trans Canada Highway and St. Laurence Seaway here in Canada. MMTers would agree with this (as well as taxing back what they're spending into the economy).

The bedrock of the fight against #imperialism embodied in the #neoliberal regimes at present will be provided by an alliance between the working class and the mass of the peasantry and that this alliance will have to continue intact, without the working class shedding any allies among the peasantry. In other words, the entire peasantry, including the rich peasantry, is an ally in the struggle against neoliberal #capitalism.
