ℹ️ The peacock butterfly (Inachis io) has a wingspan of up to 6 cm and is common in Central Europe. Peacock butterflies are most often found near stinging nettles. Their caterpillars prefer the common nettle.

ℹ️ Das Tagpfauenauge (Inachis io) gehört zu den Edelfaltern. Es hat eine Spannweite von bis zu 6 cm und kommt in Mitteleuropa häufig vor. Tagpfauenaugen findet man am besten in der Nähe von Brenneseln. Ihre Raupen essen am liebsten die große Brennesel.

≽༏≼ Small spreadwing 🇩🇪
📝 I got up at 5 a.m. to photograph dragonflies before they became active. Unfortunately, I didn't spot any until later, but it was still early enough to take a few photos.
ℹ️ The small spreadwing (Lestes virens) belongs to the damselfly family. It has a wingspan of up to 4 cm. The short blue stripe on its rump is striking.

📝 Ich bin um 5 Uhr aufgestanden um die Libellen in Morgenstarre zu erwischen. Leider hab ich erst spät welche entdeckt, aber noch rechtzeitig genug für ein paar Fotos.
ℹ️ Die kleine Binsenjungfer (Lestes virens) gehört zu den Teichjungfern. Sie hat eine Flügelspannweite von bis zu 4 cm. Markant ist der kurze blaue Streifen am Hinterteil.

ℹ️ Die kleine Keilfeckschwebefliege (Eristalis arbustorum) wird bis zu 11 mm lang. In Europa gehört sie zu den am häufigsten vorkommenden Schwebefliegenarten. Wegen ihres Aussehens wird sie auch kleine Bienenschwebefliege genannt.

🪲 Large pine weevil 🇫🇮
I was waiting for the great spotted woodpecker to make his presence known, but suddenly the beetle was right next to me. I quickly changed the lens and missed the woodpecker for this stackphotos 😉.
ℹ️ The spruce bark beetle (Hylobius abietis) grows up to 1.4 cm long and is mainly found in coniferous forests.

🪲 Fichtenrüsselkäfer 🇫🇮
Eigentlich hab ich den Buntspecht aufgelauert, der sich bereits durch Laute bemerkbar machte, aber auf einmal war der Käfer neben mir. Schnell das Objektiv gewechselt und den Specht für dieses Stackfoto verpasst 😉.
ℹ️ Der Fichtenrüsselkäfer (Hylobius abietis) wird bis zu 1,4 cm lang und kommt vor allem in Nadelwäldern vor.

ℹ️ The common robber fly grows up to 18 mm long and is the most common robber fly in Germany. It feeds on flies, grasshoppers and small bees. It takes its prey from a perch (usually a leaf).

📖 I went through my archives. Since I couldn't figure out which robber fly it was, I never posted the picture. I waited at this spot for half an hour because I had a wedding photo shoot after this one.

🪰 gemeine Raubfliege 🇩🇪
ℹ️ Die gemeine Raubfliege wird bis zu 18 mm lang und ist die häufigste Raubfliege Deutschlands. Sie ernährt sich u.a. von Fliegen, Heuschrecken und kleine Bienen. Die Beute holt sie sich von einem Ansitz (zumeist ein Blatt).

📖 Mal mein Archiv durchforstet. Da ich nicht herausgefunden habe, welche Raubfliege das ist, hab ich das Bild nie gepostet. An diesem Ort habe ich gewartet, da ich eine halbe Stunden später Hochzeitsfotos gemacht habe.
