This is some next level #corruption.

"'I am unaware of a single precedent where the #IRS has agreed in advance to permanently forgo examination of previously filed tax returns for a specific person or business,' said Danny Werfel, who was IRS commissioner under former President Joe Biden. 'People expect the same tax rules and enforcement framework to apply to everybody.'"

About that lawsuit β€”

"Aquilino Gonell, who retired from the Capitol Police after sustaining injuries on Jan. 6 said the litigation was 'shockingly unsurprising.'

"'It took them long enough since they have seen other insurrectionists being rewarded with government jobs, settlements and praises for their violent attempt to overthrow our democracy and elevating them as heroes and villains at the same time.'"

Acting AG #Blanche "doesn’t rule out considering payments for violent Jan. 6 rioters as he defends $1.8B fund"

...so I suppose that also means the "protestors" who attacked the Capitol police officers, since #Vance also didn't rule that out when recently asked (see the second link).

Blanche faces scrutiny over a nearly $1.8B fund to repay Trump allies

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has not ruled out the possibility of compensating individuals involved in violence during the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot from a new $1.776 billion fund. During a Congressional hearing on Tuesday, Blanche stated that anyone who believes they were politically targeted can apply for the β€œAnti-Weaponization Fund.” The fund, announced Monday, aims to compensate those mistreated by previous administrations' Justice Departments. Blanche emphasized that the fund is not limited to any political party or specific individuals. Some Democrats have criticized the fund as an abuse of power, while some Republicans have expressed discomfort with it.

Per the article:

~ "In defending the deal, the Justice Department (DOJ) pointed to a fund established by the Obama admin to compensate Native American farmers who said they had experienced racial discrimination."

#MyThoughts –
Okay, what now? That's a different thing. And a red herring.

Oh good, the article calls it out:

"But that fund was not created with a goal of benefiting allies of the president who’d been previously investigated for potential criminal conduct.”

Those particular rules haven't changed as far as I know, though many still seem to be pending on Georgia's government website (no doubt being fixed up now after Governor Kemp quietly signed the voting rule changes into law on Tuesday). The current rule of how the candidates are listed on the ballots only helps Republicans, so I don't know why it would change at this time.

/2 - Of course it could only help Republicans β€”

who are listed at the top of #Georgia ballots (except in primaries and special elections) because of an elections rule where the name of the candidate who is of the same party as the current governor is shown at the top.

Voters who haven't researched candidates might just pick the most prominent one at the top of the list.

'Free market' doesn't mean that the president personally promotes business deals...

#MyThoughts

/3 - Strange.

Sure, other presidents (like Reagan) have promoted capitalism in #China and trade with the country, but did they bring an entourage of #business people with them on diplomatic state visits?

And would they have personally invited a giant US #tech company's CEO to accompany them on the trip?

I wonder what deals are being made. And #trump seems to favor some companies over others.

A lawsuit claims the Agriculture Secretary's work emails proselytized federal employees with frequent Christian-related references like "God," & "Jesus Christ," thus violating 1st Amendment's Establishment Clause.

To emphasize that the #TrumpAdmin couldn't care less and will do whatever it wants, a #USDA spokesperson said, "While we do not comment on pending litigation, we will keep the plaintiffs in our prayers during this process." 😐
