After a couple of days in California we flew to Boston, which is one of my favorite cities, and spent a couple of nights there. When I was younger I wanted to live in Boston but now I’m not sure I could handle the cold. But I managed to brave it for a couple of days while we were there so that we could wander around and see things like the Charles River, Boston Common, the North End, and of course the New England Aquarium

Since we live in China we usually go somewhere in Southeast or East Asia during our vacations because they’re close, and depending on where we go often have really nice weather. But this year for Chinese New Year, which is my longest holiday, we went back to the United States to visit my family. I’m from Massachusetts but flights from China usually go to the west coast so we went to San Francisco first. An old friend of mine lives there so we hung out for a couple of days and he showed us around

After going to the night market the first night we spent the next day we were there sticking close to the hotel. We walked down the shore towards some other hotels to use an afternoon tea coupon we had, then caught the sunset over the ocean. And what a sunset

We didn’t spend the ENTIRE last two days at the hotel, just most of it. We like night markets and we saw there was one close by so the first night we were there we went for dinner. We wandered around and sampled a bunch of different foods. Then I ate mac n cheese.

We decided to just relax at the end of the trip. We picked a nice looking hotel that was pretty close to the airport and spent two days there not really doing anything. We spent most of our full day there going back and forth between snorkeling and sitting on the little beach that the hotel had

We only stayed on Mamutik Island for two nights. We had read that it was much more popular for people coming from Kota Kinabalu for the day and were worried it wouldn’t be that great. It turned out being more popular with day trippers was true but we didn’t have any problem staying over
