Vergissmeinnicht en ancien allemand signifie : "Ne m'oublie pas"...

Different types of vegetation establish themselves depending on the underlying substrate. Here, a pile of stones left over from our barn renovation has become a small botanical refuge. Growing among the gravel fragments are species well adapted to dry, stony ground. In the foreground and scattered throughout are patches of #dwarf #mouse-ear (Cerastium pumilum; Dunkles Hornkraut), with its fine, low-growing foliage. At the center of the image, a small forget-me-not (Myosotis sp.; Vergissmeinnicht) stands out with its delicate blue blooms. Also visible is blurred bird’s-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus; German: Gemeiner Hornklee), bringing warm yellow tones into the mix. This rugged microhabitat illustrates how even construction leftovers can give rise to diverse plant communities.
