For Foster, human #connection with #animals is key. Although he says he won’t make another #octopus film, he has been getting to know a wild otter. He describes feeling “an overwhelming mix of emotions – love, gratitude and a bit of confusion” when it reached out a paw to stroke his face.

Grad #MyOctopusTeacher (RSA 2020, R: Ehrlich/Reed) gesehen. Dafür, dass der einen Oskar bekommen hat, bin ich ziemlich unbeeindruckt. Nicht, weil die Filmaufnahmen schlecht wären, sondern weil es hier augenscheinlich nur sekundär um den Kraken aus dem Titel geht. Im Vordergrund steht ein weißer mittelalter Mann, der so privilegiert ist, dass er in seiner Midlife-Crisis ein Jahr lang jeden Tag tauchen gehen kann & dabei erst entdeckt, dass man emotionale Beziehungen zu Tieren aufbauen kann. WTF?
