Well today was awful right up until I went to Sourdeval book shelter and found a big stash of late 90s/early 2000s copies of Rock Sound and Les Inrockuptibles. We can and must stop here, THIS IS BRIAN COUNTRY

There are a lot more where these come from. If anyone is wondering what "Sex Intentions Placebo" means, "Sexe Intentions" was the nonsensical French title for the film Cruel Intentions

Continuing our celebration of the 40th anniversary of Strawberry Switchblade's Let Her Go, 40 years ago this week No 1 and Smash Hits magazines gave it these full-page lyric posters.

No 1 and Smash Hits were rivals, aimed at a more adolescent and mid teen audience than the 'serious' music papers like Melody Maker, Sounds and NME. It's amazing how many different publications there were about pop music in the 1980s!
