Instantly was transported back to times with a friend who passed to soon, singing along in terrible English accents, sipping cinnamon schnapps on a ski lift in freezing weather.

The backstory: When I was very young, it was a great treat to sleep in the other twin bed in my oldest sister's room because she had a "record changer," i.e., a stereo on which she could stack records, and it would drop them one by one and turn off automatically. She would always put on a stack before we went to sleep.

For years, I've had a very dim memory of her telling me to try to stay awake until *my* song, which was something about blue eyes. I never could stay awake for it.

Over the years, I've searched for what that song was. (Not the kind of thing my sister would remember.) But nothing I found seemed right ... there are a lot of songs about blue eyes...

So just now, I discovered I could do a "detailed search" using this wonderful website. Scanning down the very manageable list of results, after I had put in various search criteria, it jumped out at me: "Pretty Blue Eyes" by The Lettermen. My sister was a big Lettermen fan and had several of their records. Though this song doesn't sound esp familiar to me, I feel sure that's what it was. ✔️ 😊
