A small article about where to find music outside of streaming services. In case anyone wants to leave Spotify & Co and doesn't know where to begin. DiDay is back next week, so... think about it
Hi all! Time to get back into the topic that sort of spawned the idea for this blog in the first place – leaving music streaming behind and building a local music library. This is a fairly big topic, so I will not be covering the whole thing in one post (who would read that even), instead I will be writing shorter articles dedicated to one aspect or another. In my second article I wrote about streaming services’ algorithms and encouraged people to ditch those and go local. In order to do that, you need to build your own music library. In this article, I will explain things I’ve done, things that are possible, things that I recommend people to do at least every once in a while, and things that should be avoided. It’s mostly my opinion, but I will add some information about options that I haven’t used myself, in which case I will provide a link to my source of information. Can’t take the university out of the girl. Also, none of this is a paid advertisement.

A small but very important improvement. Enjoy!

So the past year I could have conveniently used Neovim instead of fooling around with that mod command? D'oh!

When I accidentally deleted the music library in my Music app on my Macbook yesterday, I was worried that my whole music collection was gone, but I was able to copy the files back into the app. So all I lost was the record of my listening for the last
