Joe Jackson - Steppin' Out

Video from 1982. Super positive vibes!
Published on the British musician's fifth studio album "Night and Day". (The title Night and Day refers to a Jazz standard by Cole Porter.)

@edwardchampion Does this one fit in? Still quite "punky" in feeling, but quite accomplished and a decently produced sound.

Talk Talk - Living In Another World

Live in Salamanca, Spain in 1986. Talk Talk had released their album "The Colour of Spring" and went on live tour.
This concert took place on the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, a beautiful central place in the center of the city from 1724. And I was in the audience on this warm summer night as a young student.

Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven (Official video)

From their album "Doolittle" (released in 1989)

You can never have too much Pixies in your timeline. What a powerful mix.

Pixies - Hey

Another great tune by this band from Boston.
Published on their second album "Doolittle" in 1989. Fun fact: Kurt Cobain, singer of Nirvana, was a big fan of the Pixies.

The Weathermen - Poison!

Not sure if this is classified as EBM (Electronic Body Music).
The available info on this band is very little and sometimes contradictory. They seem to be of Belgian origin, but not sure. This tune was released in 1987, i had this on vinyl. "You can call me poison".

Grace Jones - Walking in the Rain (Live)

Another fine cover version. The original was written by the Australian band "Flash and the Pan". Grace Jones published this track on her album "Nightclubbing" in 1981. I have no idea where this live performance took place.

Laurie Anderson - Sharkey's Day

From her excellent second studio album "Mr. Heartbreak", released in 1984. She had lots of collaborators on this record, among them William S. Borroughs (whose speaking voice can be heard in the last song), Peter Gabriel, Nile Rogers and Bill Laswell. At that time this record (vinyl) was a masterpiece of sound production.

Tom Waits - Clap Hands

Released on his album "Rain Dogs" in 1985.
The video is not official, but produced by a fan and I like it.

I always regarded his albums "Swordfishtrombones", "Rain Dogs" and "Frank's Wild Years" as some kind of meta music, music that is telling us something about music.
