Cuban-born Alpharita Anderson met Bob Marley as teens in Trenchtown Jamaica. Bon, guitarist for the Wailing Wailers, would pass Rita's house every day walking to the studio. Rita + her friends stopped the group, performing an impromptu song + they were invited back to sing vocals on some tracks. The couple would fall in love and marry.
