I'm a little disappointed. I set up an ai amp sim + stereo cab sim w/ a few basics. I'm practically maxed out on the #MODdevices Dwarf. Might need a 2nd for effects.

I'm not necessarily opposed but, that makes a huge difference in travel gear & setup time. Signal chain would be limited somewhat as well. Best I could do is use one TRS i/o for distorted and the second for clean from amp box to FX box then into the interface.

Or reamp. Which doesn't help me at all if I wanted to use only this for shows.

It is possible to DIY a machine to use w/ MOD Desktop but 1) latency 2) footswitches 3) i/o 4) knobs

I gotta say, I'm not a huge fan of pickguards.

Even if the shape looks cool, I'd rather see wood grain, texture. I'd rather have the feel of a natural material over plastic or acryllic.

Instead of a black synthetic pickguard, why not ebony or any other wood, even if it's got a black finish? How about metal that's been hit with flame to colorize it? Roll the edges, embed it, or bind it. Give me a good finger rest while you're at it!

I guess it's fine on plain woods. Those almost always get painted anyway. Alternatively, they could be carved, burned, or inlayed with stone.

At first, I thought it sounded like the host of another #history ch. I looked at the ch info. It's from 2015. Only one other video besides the current batch. One ~45min per day over the last 3wks. I know it's typical for netcasts to record several episodes & release before doing a big promotion so, it's possible these were all done within the last year & maybe the unseen host does not have a dayjob.

This video is a slide show. It sounds like a few lines were spliced in after a first take.

It's been a while since I've used these. I've been using my "mono NativeAudio rig" or simply a multi-effects pedal for daily practice. So, now I'm redoing the signal path and all that. It'd be much easier if I had a loop switcher but that's gonna run ~$2k so.. gonna be a while.

I saw some #rackmount 31 band EQs that have #MIDI that were made in the 80's and 90's. The ones currently in production do not. It feels like we've taken a step back. 🤨

Granted, there are two fantastic digital #effectsPedals that do and have more features than anything else. (Aside from the #Cranborne Carnaby he2 that has USB for #DAW control and saturates boosted frequency bands.)

*shrug*

On one… foot, I like the idea of *utilities* being in a rack. My other foot doesn't care and just wants to easily swap between presets.

This is brilliant. I picked up a #DBX 166a last year. I haven't used it much. Was <$50. Maybe one day I can send it it to be modded and tuned up.

There needs to be more companies out there maintaining and modifying more gear.

First I found #Strymon, then I found #TRexEffects and wanted the #analogue tape delay and drum delay. Now they came out with a stereo version. Now I understand what the Strymon Volente is about and want that for when I can't afford to use the real stuff.
