Cactus Lee: Lee's Dream

Your mileage may vary, but listen to the latest from the Cactus Lee, the sounds that come to mind are the sounds of the FM radio of my youth when my mom was driving me around: Cat Stevens, John Denver, Dan Fogelberg. It's a soft focus rock with a strong undercurrent of folk and country. It's comfy and makes you feel good. The songs are great, some hit-repeat worthy, and his voice is warm and easy. Enjoy!

Shannon and the Clams are a band whose music is loaded with all kinds of throwback qualities. They put together old school rockabilly, surf rock, West Coast garage rock, and doo-wop, all of which should push some big nostalgia button for the listener, except for that level of anxiety they creeps into their sound, especially in their earlier years, that contrasts with the usual happy-go-lucky tone of the '50s and '60s. Their music is uptempo and upbeat, relishing in vintage girl group harmonies. Lead vocalist Shannon Shaw adds an extra touch of gruff to her voice that plays well against the band's roughness and fuzz that is inline with the classic template of the period.

Kitchen Dwellers is a Bozeman, Montana based band that plays contemporary bluegrass with rock and country influences and jam band dynamics. In fact, their songs often come across as country tunes played by a rock band who, by some quirk, has chosen to use the musical idioms of bluegrass to express themselves, occasionally straying into honky-tonk along the way. On their 2025 album Seven Devils, they were shifting gears mid-song on occasion, following a narrative arc, which gives their music some variety. By contrast, their earlier work is grounded more firmly (though not exclusively) in the bluegrass tradition. As is the case with jam bands, their songs feel open-ended most of the time, leaving room for musicians to take off as they please.

Joy is a Rebellion (Demo, 9.4.2026) Von dem einen oder anderen Tanzbein haben wir Feedback erhalten, dass unsere Musik nicht tanzbar genug wäre, also beschlossen wir, (mindestens) einen Song zu produzieren, der zum Tanzen einlädt. Gleichzeitig wollen wir Freude und Tanz mit einer politischen Botschaft verbinden. Das ist das Ergebnis! 💜✨💚 We had gotten some feedback that our music was not danceable enough, so we decided to make a track that would make people want to dance. But we also wanted to combine joy and dancing with a political message. This was the result.
