Gonna update my #intro post because of the increased character count

Hi, I'm Tuttle. Names are complicated. Have definitely answered "what is your name" with 500+ words plus citations.

#queer #trans #disabled

Disabled goes there because its part of my gender. My gender is queering my disabilities. My gender is a verb and the fact this might not make sense is just even more of no really that's it, because there's no one right way to language and there's no boxes we gotta stick ourselves in regarding our genders.

#MathEd

in that whole everyone deserves an education
in that whole every person is human
in that whole every person can learn
its so much fun to teach proof by induction but its so much more important to see these children actually recognized as human by at least one person
and it hurts to sometimes be the only adult they know who they feel like they get that from

#MultiplyDisabled

not in the i have multiple diagnoses (though i do) but in the my bodymind works the way it does because its mine and labels are only relevant in so much as its relevant to deal with a broken medical system

#MultiplyNeurodivergent

not as in autism and adhd but as in let me challenge myself to see how many different labels of groups i can fit in.

because my neurodivergences include developmental disability
and make me crazy
and cause me chronic pain
and include chronic illness
and include physical disability
and include functional blindness
and are not limited to simple labels or simple categorization

#yarn crafter

because yarn holds my brain together

And got my task trained service cat and waiting on my #ServiceDog to finish training

because who i am is complicated because i'm human

The final assignment has at last been submitted for this teaching period.

I should now feel relaxed, relieved, or some other facsimile thereof.

Instead, I feel ill. Completely drained.

Dragging this sorry carcass of mine back to bed.

As a #multiplyDisabled person, I'm always thinking of ways things could be more #accessible, and one just occurred to me. I'm sitting here doing some things on my computer and needed to install a couple packages. When I tried to install them, I was asked if I wanted to proceed and to type y or n. I have some coordination issues and my hands don't always do what I want them to do. I meant to press y, but I accidentally pressed h, and the installation terminated and had to be restarted. It would be nice if programs could be made, maybe through configuration settings, a little more forgiving with things like this. I wouldn't want to be asked over and over, but if I enter something that's neither y or n, I'd like to be prompted again rather than the program just exiting. This time was on #Linux, but I'm sure I've seen other examples of this on other platforms. What do you all think? Can you think of small ways you might like your #technology to be more #accessible?

First post! Figure I should say hi before I start whining. I'm Kalany, I'm #MultiplyDisabled and queer, and I'm #autistic. I also have #ADHD #anxiety, a #ConnectiveTissueDisorder type unknown, and mild but pervasive #allergies.

I also have chronic #Migraines during which I can't always words good, so I can't always add alt text. But if you see a post of mine without alt text please feel free to add some.

Better do a proper #Introduction then, hadn't I?

I am Harriet, I am a Project Lead at Many Cats Studios here in the dank cold of the UK, I also moonlight professionally as a Games Accessibility Consultant. I am #ActuallyAutistic, #ADHD and #MultiplyDisabled and I use those characteristics to stand up and fight for better inclusion of disabled and neurodivergent developers in the games industry.

Outside of games, I love mycology, lepidopterology and fibre arts. :D Nice to meet folks!

Introduction: Cari. 32. Partnered for 6 years. Feminist. I have #Crohns #HidradenitisSuppurativa #Migraines and #PolymyalgiaRheumatica. I guess that makes me #multiplydisabled. I'm a stay-at-home dog mom and I take way too many pictures of my #dogs.

I have a BS in PoliSci and I had to drop out of law school.

My bf and I own our house so sometimes I post about #interiordesign and #homeimprovement type stuff. We also play #PokemonGo. A lot.
