Achso, das noch. Für YouTube habe ich lokal #piped und #invidious laufen. Für reddit #redlib.

Ansonsten halt #libremdb, #Quetre, #rimgo, #mozhi, #whoogle und #searxng. Plus diverser anderer Nettigkeiten.

Ich muss mal einen Screenshot von meinem #selfhosted dashboard posten 😁.

Ich habe einen kleinen Proxy-Dienst entwickelt, der LibreTranslate API-Aufrufe in Mozhi API-Aufrufe übersetzt.

Beabsichtigt war, Mozhi als Übersetzungsdienst für meine Sharkey-Instanz zu verwenden. Warum: Weil meiner Meinung nach Mozhi bessere Ergebnisse liefert, insbesondere bei der Konfiguration mit DuckDuckGo Engine.

Es gibt eine Beschreibung darüber, wie der Übersetzungsdienst für Sharkey mit Docker Compose aktiviert wird. Ein vorgefertigtes Docker Image für AMD64 ist verfügbar.

I developed a small proxy service, that translates LibreTranslate API calls into Mozhi API calls.

The intent was to use Mozhi as translation service for my Sharkey instance. Why: Because in my opinion Mozhi gives better results, especially when configuring the DuckDuckGo engine.

There is a description on how-to enable the translation service for Sharkey with docker compose. A pre-built docker image for AMD64 is available.

Ich habe meine Iceshrimp Installationsbeschreibung erweitert.

Ich beschreibe nun die Vorgehensweise um den Mozhi Server von Adminforge als Übersetzungsservice einzubinden. Mozhi liefert meines Erachtens bessere Ergebnisse als Libre Translate.

I am running Iceshrimp as my fediverse instance. Iceshrimp as a Misskey clone that has the advantage to support the Mastodon client API. This allows to use many clients that are developed for Mastodon. Including my favorite client Mona. Install Iceshrimp Note For details on how to install Iceshrimp, please refer to Installing Iceshrimp with Docker. The description is maintainer by the Iceshrimp development team. Basically all I did is following those instructions.

Why would I use this over just directly accessing the engine in question

There are many reasons why using an alternative-frontend like mozhi is superior to directly accessing the service in question, and the biggest and most obvious reason is of course, privacy.

However, there are other reasons to use it as well.

In many cases, different translation engines can give vastly different results for the given text, and in some cases where you need the most accurate/poetic translation, having the ability to have the output of all the engines right in front of you is extremely useful.
