#introduction Hey! 👋 Guess it's time for a proper introduction. I'm Mike, a movie junkie in my forties from Finland, with a soft spot for old-school horror and cult classics. I’m always adding new obscure titles to my Blu-ray and UHD collection. Besides stacking up my movie shelves, I’m into collecting vinyl (mostly metal, synth stuff and soundtracks) and all kinds of gaming – video games, board games, RPGs, you name it. Just like on that other photo-sharing app, I prefer staying behind the camera and letting pics of my collection and hobbies do the talking.

#esittely Moro! 👋 Esittäytyminen lienee paikallaan. Olen pirkanmaalainen nelikymppinen leffadiggari, jonka sydäntä lähellä ovat etenkin menneiden vuosikymmenien kauhu- ja kulttielokuvat. Hämäriä blu-ray- ja UHD-leffoja tulee hankittua tasaiseen tahtiin. Leffahyllyjen paisuttamisen ohella myös vinyylilevyjen keräily (lähinnä metalli-, synapörinä- ja soundtrack-osastoa) ja pelihommat (video-, lauta-, rooli- jne.) ovat sydäntä lähellä. Kuten siellä toisellakin kuvienjakoalustalla, tykkään pysytellä itse enemmän kameran takana ja antaa keräily- ja harrastushommiin liittyvien kuvien puhua puolestaan.

There's a certain hilarious irony in the fact that Universal (unsuccessfully) sued Nintendo for copyright infringement over Donkey Kong back in 1981 (Universal owns the King Kong IP), then 42 years later made a movie featuring the Donkey Kong character that made them shitloads of money and became the (so far) top-grossing film of 2023.

If rumours are true, James Cameron might approve The Abyss and True Lies for debut on Blu-ray and 4K UHD in the first quarter of 2023. 🤞 The transfers are just waiting his approval at this point.

I have been waiting for ages to upgrade my old The Abyss DVD and I have actually never seen True Lies. 🫤
