Millions of people will take to the streets for the #NOKINGS PROTEST on Saturday, March 28. In fact, more than 2,540 events are already planned in all 50 states!
Last June, 3 million of us came together for the first #NOKINGS. Then, 7 million in October. And now, March 28 is on track to be the largest #NOKINGS mobilization yet—and the largest nonviolent demonstration in U.S. history.
We need to keep building this pro-democracy movement until we reach a tipping point when the people of the United States grow more powerful than Trump and MAGA authoritarianism.
According to decades of research on non-violent civil resistance movements, NO GOVERNMENT HAS EVER WITHSTOOD A CHALLENGE WHEN 3.5% OF ITS POPULATION MOBILIZES AGAINST IT IN A SUSTAINED WAY. In the US, 3.5% means approximately 12 million people.

Just caught up with last Sunday's edition of MediaWatch, which surfaced some pretty disgraceful comments about our homeless whānau, in defence of "move-on orders";

As @norightturnnz's excellent piece on this pointed out, move-on orders don't just give the Police the power to arbitrarily evict people from public space, even if they're doing nothing except looking excessively poor. Which is bad enough.
