I do not know why people sometimes call it "Jew's harp". A better term for it would be "mouth harp", which is what I prefer to call it.

I got a mouth harp recently, and today I pulled out my sm58 and drum brute impact to have some fun. I played around with the levels a bit, but I couldn't get them quite right, so the mouth harp is quieter than I'd like. This is such a fun rhythm instrument. Playing around with the overtones and formant is very much fun. It's a serious mouth workout which I didn't even think was a thing until I started playing this instrument. You can get a decent mouth harp for like 20 bucks. Annoy your friends by making the cartoon "boing" sound!
