schneckenhausDie weiße Silberwurz („Holtasóley“) ist seit 2004 Islands Nationalblume. Ihre weißen, achtblättrigen Blüten sind mir bereits in den Westfjorden aufgefallen. Jetzt nehme ich die silbrig behaarten Blätter besonders wahr – sie schützen die Pflanze vor Wind und Kälte. Häufig bedeckt die Silberwurz weite Flächen auf kargen Böden.
